- Undifferentiated ectomesenchymal cells (Inner enamel epithelium) differentiate into pre-ameloblasts
- Pre-ameloblast:
Secretes growth factor which excites dental papillary cells
Cells go under mitosis, mitotic spindles are perpendicular to the basement membrane
- Mitosis forms odontoblast and sub-odontoblast cells
- Sub-odontoblast are responsible for reparative dentine
- Basement membrane disintegrates
- Pre dentine is formed
- Full thickness of primary dentine present
